Stop receiving Alendronate and seek emergency medical help or contact your doctor immediately if any of the following serious side effects occur: an allergic reaction (laboured breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue or face; hives); difficulty or pain during swallowing; pain in the chest; pain or burning under the ribs; pain in the back; new or worsening heartburn. Other side effects, which are less serious, are typically more likely to occur. Continue receiving Alendronate and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following symptoms: abdominal discomfort; nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation; stomach upset; muscle, bone or joint soreness or aches; headache; eye pain; a rash. Other side effects that are different from those listed above are also possible. Consult with your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is becoming bothersome.
