Usage

Fosamax is for oral intake and should be received in the morning on an empty stomach. When you receive Fosamax, you should avoid eating or drinking anything or lying down without motion for a period of 30 minutes after receiving a dose of Fosamax. Receive it only with water. Do not receive it with orange juice, coffee, milk or other dairy products. Do not chew and do not crush the pill.

Missed Dose

You should try to keep regular schedule of receiving Fosamax. Avoid missing any doses. If you do miss a regular dose, skip it and then continue with your next dose. Do not take a double dose of this drug to make up for a missed dose.

Storage

The Fosamax 70 mg drug must be stored at room temperature.

Overdose

The symptoms of an overdose may be the following: hypocalcemia, hypophosphatemia, severe upper gastrointestinal disturbance (upset stomach, esophagitis, gastritis, heartburn). If you suspect that you have an overdose, seek medical attention immediately.

More Information

Do not consume alcohol at the same time when you receive the drug. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know your reaction to this drug. Receiving antacids are known to reduce the effect of Fosamax.
